1. Warranty Period
Unless a product listing expressly states a different written warranty period:
- Electrical products and electrical components: six (6) months.
- All other Twist Dynamics-branded products: one (1) year.
For products purchased directly from Twist Dynamics, the warranty period begins on the date the product is delivered or picked up. For products purchased through an authorized dealer, the warranty period begins on the retail purchase date shown on the customer's dated proof of purchase.
Proof of purchase is required. This Limited Warranty applies to the original consumer purchaser and is non-transferable except where applicable law provides otherwise.
2. What This Warranty Covers
Twist Dynamics warrants covered products against defects in materials and workmanship under normal intended use during the applicable warranty period.
A defect means a condition attributable to the materials or manufacturing of the product that materially affects its intended function or substantially departs from Twist Dynamics' reasonable manufacturing standards.
Minor cosmetic or manufacturing variations that do not materially affect function are not considered defects.
3. Inspect Products Before Installation
Customers should fully inspect all products before installation, modification, alteration, or use. Before installation, inspect for shipping damage, scratches, chips, cracks, dents, finish concerns, incorrect color or configuration, missing parts or hardware, obvious manufacturing defects, and obvious fitment concerns.
If a customer discovers, or reasonably should have discovered, a visible condition and nevertheless installs, modifies, buffs, polishes, compounds, sands, drills, cuts, paints, refinishes, repairs, chemically treats, or otherwise alters the product before giving Twist Dynamics a reasonable opportunity to evaluate the condition, Twist Dynamics may deny or limit coverage for that condition to the extent the installation or alteration caused or worsened the condition, concealed or changed the original condition, prevents Twist Dynamics from reasonably determining its cause, or creates additional damage or expense that could reasonably have been avoided.
Installation does not automatically eliminate coverage for a latent manufacturing defect that could not reasonably have been discovered before installation.
4. Shipping Damage, Shortages, and Order Errors
Shipping damage is separate from a manufacturing defect. Customers should inspect shipments promptly. Visible or concealed shipping damage, shortages, or order errors should be reported to Twist Dynamics within 48 hours of delivery whenever reasonably possible.
For freight deliveries, visible damage should be photographed and noted on the carrier's delivery receipt before acceptance whenever possible. Keep all boxes, pallets, protective materials, shipping labels, and other packaging until any shipping issue has been resolved.
Failure to report a shipping issue within 48 hours does not automatically eliminate an otherwise valid warranty claim for a manufacturing defect, but a delay may limit available remedies for shipping damage when the delay prevents Twist Dynamics or the carrier from reasonably verifying the condition or pursuing a carrier claim.
5. What Is Not Covered
This Limited Warranty does not cover a failure, condition, or damage caused by or resulting from:
- Improper installation, assembly, adjustment, maintenance, or failure to follow installation instructions;
- Accident, collision, impact, abuse, misuse, neglect, or use outside the product's intended application;
- Racing, competition, stunt use, overloading, or exceeding stated product limitations;
- Installation on an incompatible vehicle, model year, trim, or configuration;
- Unauthorized modification, drilling, cutting, grinding, welding, sanding, machining, painting, refinishing, powder coating, or other alteration when that work causes or contributes to the claimed condition;
- Improper buffing, polishing, compounding, cleaning, chemical treatment, solvents, adhesives, lubricants, or coatings;
- Damage caused by third-party parts, accessories, installation, service, or repairs;
- Failure to maintain or routinely inspect the product where maintenance or inspection is reasonably required;
- Normal wear and tear;
- Road debris, rocks, environmental exposure, weather, salt, chemicals, contamination, theft, vandalism, fire, flood, or other external causes; or
- Damage occurring after delivery that is unrelated to a defect in materials or workmanship.
Use of a third-party installer, service provider, or aftermarket part does not automatically void this warranty. Twist Dynamics may, however, deny coverage for damage or defects caused by that installation, service, modification, or part.
6. Cosmetic Conditions and Finishes
Unless otherwise expressly stated, this warranty does not cover ordinary cosmetic deterioration or damage occurring after delivery or installation, including scratches, chips, scuffs, abrasions, rock or road-debris damage, fading, staining, weathering, heat discoloration, water spotting, chemical damage, environmental corrosion, or finish damage caused during installation or removal.
Minor variations may naturally occur in fiberglass, carbon fiber, composites, gelcoat, resin, powder coat, paint, welds, plastics, fabrics, and other manufactured materials. Minor variations that do not materially affect the product's intended function are not defects.
Any visible cosmetic condition believed to have existed at delivery should be photographed and reported before installation or modification whenever reasonably possible.
7. Product-Specific Conditions
Examples of conditions that are generally not manufacturing defects include:
- Scratching, hazing, or crazing of acrylic, polycarbonate, or Lexan caused by improper cleaners, chemicals, overtightening, installation, or use;
- Exhaust discoloration caused by normal heat cycles;
- Changes in exhaust tone or appearance resulting from normal use;
- Upholstery, canvas, fabric, or finish wear resulting from use or environmental exposure;
- Adhesive or hook-and-loop attachment failure caused by contamination, improper surface preparation, unsuitable installation temperature, immediate loading or tension, or improper installation;
- Finish damage caused by aggressive cleaners, polishing compounds, pressure washing, solvents, or chemicals; and
- Normal loosening of hardware requiring routine inspection or adjustment.
A defect in the underlying material or workmanship itself may still qualify for warranty coverage.
8. Modified or Repaired Products
Twist Dynamics may deny coverage for a claimed condition to the extent a modification, attempted repair, alteration, or other work caused the condition or prevents Twist Dynamics from reasonably evaluating its original cause.
Customers should not attempt to repair, refinish, buff, polish, compound, sand, glue, weld, drill, modify, or otherwise correct a claimed defect before receiving instructions from Twist Dynamics.
Twist Dynamics will not reimburse repair work performed without prior written authorization.
9. Labor, Freight, and Related Expenses
Unless Twist Dynamics expressly authorizes an expense in writing before it is incurred, this Limited Warranty does not reimburse or cover:
- Original installation labor;
- Removal or reinstallation labor;
- Diagnostic labor or shop charges;
- Freight or return shipping;
- Expedited shipping;
- Towing, travel, storage, or rental vehicles;
- Vehicle downtime or loss of use;
- Lost income or profits; or
- Other incidental expenses.
The customer is responsible for determining whether professional installation is appropriate for a product.
10. How to Submit a Warranty Claim
Before returning a product or arranging repairs, submit a warranty claim to Twist Dynamics. The customer should provide:
- Order number or dated proof of purchase;
- Customer name and contact information;
- Product name and SKU, when available;
- Vehicle year, model, trim, and relevant modifications;
- A clear description of the issue and when it was discovered;
- Clear close-up and full-product photographs of the claimed condition;
- Photographs of the installation area where relevant;
- Photographs of packaging when shipping damage is involved; and
- Any additional information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim.
Twist Dynamics may request additional photographs, video, measurements, troubleshooting, return of a component, or return of the complete product before making a final determination. Submission of a claim does not mean the claim has been approved.
11. Do Not Return Products Without Authorization
Products must not be returned without prior written authorization from Twist Dynamics. If a return is requested, the customer must package the product adequately to prevent additional damage during transportation.
The customer is responsible for damage caused by inadequate return packaging. Customers should retain original packaging until the product has been fully inspected and the customer is satisfied that no shipping, cosmetic, or fitment issue exists.
Discarding original packaging does not, by itself, eliminate otherwise valid warranty rights. However, the customer remains responsible for safely packaging an authorized return and for additional damage caused by inadequate return packaging.
12. Warranty Remedies
After evaluating and approving a warranty claim, Twist Dynamics will determine the appropriate remedy based on the nature of the covered defect. At Twist Dynamics' option, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, the remedy may include:
- Repair of the defective product or component;
- Replacement parts or components;
- Replacement of the defective product;
- Repair by a third-party facility selected or approved by Twist Dynamics;
- Refund of the purchase price when repair or replacement is not reasonably available; or
- With the customer's written agreement, another mutually acceptable resolution, including a partial refund, store credit, or other accommodation.
Replacement products or components may be new or functionally equivalent replacements. Twist Dynamics is not required to replace an entire assembly when repair or replacement of the defective component reasonably resolves the covered defect. Any outside repair expense must be approved by Twist Dynamics in writing before the work is performed.
13. Warranty Determination
Warranty claims are evaluated based on available evidence, including purchase records, photographs, product condition, installation, vehicle configuration, maintenance, modifications, troubleshooting, and inspection results.
Twist Dynamics may deny all or part of a claim when the available evidence reasonably demonstrates that the claimed condition is not a defect in materials or workmanship, falls within an exclusion stated in this warranty, was caused or materially contributed to by a non-covered condition, or cannot reasonably be evaluated because the product was materially altered after the issue was discovered.
14. Consumables and Maintenance Items
Consumable and routine-maintenance items are not covered for ordinary wear or depletion. Depending on the product, these may include bulbs, fuses, batteries, belts, filters, gaskets, seals, adhesives, fasteners subject to routine replacement, and similar wear items. This exclusion does not apply to a qualifying defect that existed in the item when supplied.
15. Third-Party Products
Products manufactured by another company and resold by Twist Dynamics may be subject to the original manufacturer's warranty. Where a product page identifies a separate manufacturer's warranty, that manufacturer's warranty governs the manufacturer's obligations unless Twist Dynamics expressly provides an additional written warranty. Nothing in this provision eliminates rights that cannot legally be excluded.
16. Non-Defective Returns Are Different From Warranty Claims
A warranty claim is not the same as a standard return request. Unless otherwise stated in the applicable return policy, non-defective merchandise may only be returned after receiving authorization from Twist Dynamics and must be unused, uninstalled, unmodified, complete, in resalable condition, and in original factory packaging with supplied hardware and components.
Authorized non-defective returns may be subject to a 20% restocking fee, and the customer is responsible for return shipping. Installed, used, damaged, altered, incomplete, or modified merchandise is not eligible for a standard non-defective return.
Custom-manufactured, custom-colored, custom powder-coated, personalized, and special-order products are final sale and are not eligible for non-defective return or cancellation after production has begun. Final-sale status does not eliminate warranty rights for an otherwise covered manufacturing defect.
17. Limitation of Implied Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THE APPLICABLE TWIST DYNAMICS LIMITED WARRANTY STATED ABOVE.
Some States do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
18. Limitation of Incidental and Consequential Damages
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TWIST DYNAMICS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM A PRODUCT OR WARRANTY CLAIM, INCLUDING LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF TIME, LOST PROFITS OR INCOME, VEHICLE DOWNTIME, TOWING, RENTAL EXPENSES, TRAVEL, OR SIMILAR LOSSES.
Where permitted by applicable law, Twist Dynamics' liability relating to a covered product will not exceed the amount actually paid for the product giving rise to the claim.
Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
19. No Unauthorized Warranties
No dealer, installer, employee, representative, reseller, or other person is authorized to modify this Limited Warranty or make additional warranty commitments on behalf of Twist Dynamics unless expressly approved by Twist Dynamics in writing.
20. Consumer Rights and Applicable Law
This Limited Warranty is intended to operate only to the extent permitted by applicable law. If any provision is prohibited or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent legally permitted without affecting the remaining provisions.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.
For purchases outside the United States, mandatory consumer-protection rights provided by the applicable jurisdiction are not excluded by this warranty.
21. Version of Warranty
The version of this Limited Warranty in effect when the covered product is purchased will govern that purchase unless applicable law requires otherwise. Updates to this policy do not retroactively reduce warranty rights already provided to a customer.
